Mosquito is a harmful insect. It is found in almost all parts of the world. It carries different types of bacteria. Only female mosquitoes suck the blood of humans or other animals, while male mosquitoes suck sap from plants.
Inspired by mosquito bites, research of painless inject
According to a joint discovery by researchers Dev Gurera, Bharat Bhushan and Naveen Kumar from Ohio State University and Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, mosquito piercing is painless as it first sprays a kind of numbing liquid on the skin to prevent sharp stings. It can penetrate the skin, which it uses to suck our blood for several minutes without us realizing it.
The research identified four key strategies in how a mosquito penetrates the body painlessly – spraying numbing liquid serum, a pointed needle; Vibration during piercing and the combination of soft and hard parts on the skin. Based on these findings, the study paper analyzed the preparation of a microneedle that contained two needles.
Where one will be used to release numbing fluid while the other will be used to inject vital fluids or drain blood painlessly. The needle will also vibrate like a mosquito piercing.
This mosquito lays more than 500 eggs, lives for so long!
The risk of diseases caused by mosquito bites increases greatly during the rainy season. Most deaths are caused by mosquito bites during this season. Actually female mosquitoes need blood to lay eggs and a mosquito lays more than 500 eggs. Let us tell you that serious diseases like dengue are also caused by the bite of female mosquitoes.
It is worth noting that there are about 3 thousand 500 species of mosquitoes found in the world. But most of these breeds do not bother humans at all. These are mosquitoes that live only on the juices of fruits and plants.
